FINNALY ARRIVE: Liverpool reportedly complete land to move for Ligue 1 forward valued at €50 million

Liverpool reportedly ready to move for Ligue 1 forward valued at €50 million

Liverpool are interested in signing Lille forward Jonathan David this summer, according to Le10Sport.

Nick Mavromaras, the Canada international’s agent, confirmed back in December 2021 that his client would like to depart the Ligue 1 club at the conclusion of the 2021-22 campaign.

Mavromaras said the following on Radio Canada: «For us, the goal is to finish the season in Lille, but it will be his last season there for several reasons. I think the Premier League is a good option for him.

«I think that he likes Spain a lot also because he likes the feeling of the ball and the very technical players. These two leagues are a big priority for him, but nothing is excluded.»

Le10Sport has reported that David and Lille are likely to part ways come the summer.

Therefore, Liverpool could make a move for the 22-year-old in the coming months. Le10Sport has also reported that Arsenal are interested in signing David.

The forward’s contract expires in June 2025. Transermarkt value David at €50 million.

David is a talented player. The forward has scored 30 goals in 84 appearances for Lille.

David is also having a solid 2021-22 club campaign. The Canada international has been averaging a WhoScored player rating of 6.84 across all competitions.

But, we would be surprised if Liverpool were to make a move for David in the near future. The reality is, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has plenty of attacking options at his disposal.

Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota are Liverpool’s forwards.

The Reds don’t need to sign another attacking option right at this moment. But, only time will tell if Liverpool are to make a move for the talented David.
