Chelsea are allegedly set to miss out on the landing of Paris Saint-Germain youngster Kays Ruiz-Atil.
The 18-year-old midfielder was handed a few opportunities in France under now-Blues boss Thomas Tuchel, but he didn’t play a single minute of football for the Parisians after Mauricio Pochettino took control of the reins.
Kays is therefore set to leave the club when his deal expires in a few days’ time, and the Blues were tipped to bring him to Stamford Bridge earlier this year in order for the youngster to continue his development under Tuchel.
However, Calciomercato journalist Matteo Moretto states that Barcelona are closing in on a summer deal for Ruiz-Atil, who spent six years with the Spanish side’s La Masia academy between 2009 and 2015.
Another day arises, and another rumour of a move between the Merseyside giants and Stade Rennais winger Jeremy Doku. This transfer window has seen Liverpool’s links with Belgium international ramp up a fair amount after an initial link the campaign before.
The Reds first found themselves linked with Doku in 2019 when the winger was first at Anderlecht. However, despite their interest, Jeremy opted to move to the Ligue 1 club to continue his development. Now, it appears that the Reds may be back in contention.
Liverpool reportedly looked at the 19-year-old winger this week, but now it looks more concrete. The Belgian forward is an impressive footballer and would be a great signing to the Reds squad at this time. Liverpool will see their front-line thin out in the winter with the Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
This will see both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah away for around a month, leaving the Reds with little to choose from. With Xherdan looking likely to leave for French club Lyon, Les Gones will need reinforcements up top.
The German manager wants the London giants to add Monaco starlet Aurelien Tchouameni in this summer transfer window. When the summer window began earlier this year, the Blues were heavily linked with U21 France international, but the rumours went quiet in no time.
With the official announcement of re-signing Romelu Lukaku ahead of the 2021-22 season, the London club’s new transfer list includes Aurelien. Apart from Tchouameni, the Blues are still chasing Sevilla defender Jules Kounde, as well as West Ham United star Declan Rice.
The 21-year-old midfielder is the current teammate of Cesc Fabregas, who played for the Blues between 2014 and 2019. After spending three years at Barcelona, Cesc switched to Chelsea ahead of the 2014-15 campaign. The 2021-22 season will be Spaniard’s fifth term with Les Monegasques.
After rising through the youth side of club Bordeaux, the French midfielder made his first-team debut with the Ligue 1 club in 2018. In as many as 37 competitive games for Bordeaux across two full campaigns, Aurelien netted one goal and one assist.
Fabrizio Romano: 28-year-old French defender waiting for Chelsea FC bid
Lucas Digne is waiting to see if Chelsea FC will submit a bid for the Everton defender in the January transfer window, according to Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano.
The 28-year-old France international is being widely tipped to leave Everton this month after falling out of favour under current Toffees boss Rafael Benitez in the 2021-22 season.
Digne’s place in the Everton team is under threat after the Merseyside outfit signed Vitaliy Mykolenko from Dinamo Kiev in a permanent deal at the start of the current transfer window.
Chelsea FC may well be in the market to sign a new left-back after Ben Chilwell succumbed to a season-ending knee injury during their victory over Juventus in the Champions League back in November.
Thomas Tuchel has been using capable Spanish defender Marcos Alonso as a cover for Chilwell but the Blues manager is looking to add more depth to the south west London side’s squad.
Chelsea FC could recall Emerson Palmieri from his loan at Ligue 1 side Lyon or the Premier League title challengers might be tempted to bring in a new face.
Italian reporter Romano has now provided an update on Chelsea FC’s rumoured interest in Digne and their plans to secure cover for Chilwell for the rest of the Premier League campaign.
“There is a big opportunity on the market for Lucas Digne,” Romano told the DR Sports YouTube channel on Friday.
“It’s true Newcastle are interested in him but I’m told Lucas Digne has no interest in going to Newcastle. I don’t see it.
“I’m sure he’ll leave Everton – 100 per cent. He’s waiting to see what Chelsea will decide to do to replace Ben Chilwell, whether they want to sign a new player or try again to recall Emerson Palmieri. Keep an eye on Chelsea. Aston Villa are [also] interested in Lucas Digne.”
Digne has scored six times in 125 games in all competitions over the past four seasons at Everton after the French full-back moved to Goodison Park from FC Barcelona.
The Everton defender won two Ligue titles with Paris Saint-Germain and the La Liga crown with FC Barcelona before he completed a £18m move to the Merseyside outfit in 2018.
Digne certainly has the experience to play for Chelsea FC following previous stints at Lille, PSG, AS Roma and FC Barcelona before moving to Goodison Park three and a half years ago.
The French defender is an attacking-minded full-back so Digne would be able to slot into a left wing-back role in the Chelsea FC team like Chilwell and Alonso.
Long-term Liverpool target Houssem Aouar has allegedly been placed on the transfer list by his club Lyon following a humbling defeat last weekend.
The Ligue 1 outfit have picked up just one point from the opening two fixtures after a 3-0 defeat to Angers and it is believed senior member Juninho hopes to address an ‘attitude problem’ at Groupama Stadium.
He has been linked with a potential switch to the Reds on numerous occasions down the seasons and could now be edging towards a summer exit.
According to a recent report from RMC Sport, as quoted by GFFN on Twitter, the 23-year-old midfielder is among numerous stars now made available.
The report says that all several players could be sold for a ‘lower price’ than they might have previously commanded – perhaps less than the £25 million Les Gones wanted for Aouar.
Capped on one occasion by his country, last season the midfielder netted seven times and added three assists in 30 top-flight outings.
Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp is in need of additional central midfield variants following the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum to Paris Saint-Germain.
The Merseyside giants are keeping a close eye on Stade Rennais winger Kamaldeen Sulemana. Ghana international has been a revelation at the French club following his transfer earlier in the summer. Sulemana has so far played 20 games for the Ligue 1 club, scoring five times and assisting two more.
It represents a decent return for a footballer who is enjoying his first taste of European football. Primarily a left-winger, Kamaldeen is capable of playing anywhere along the frontline. Despite his young age, the 19-year-old winger is already a full international for Ghana and has won two caps for their national side.
Not many footballers can outshine Jeremy Doku at Stade Rennais, but the Ghanaian attacker has managed to do only that in a clear show of his ability. His displays have not gone unnoticed on Merseyside, and the Reds are keeping close tabs on his progress.
Liverpool, who have decided to end their pursuit of Jeremy Doku, already have two of the best African attackers in the game today in Sadio Mane and Mo Salah. Both are, however, not getting any younger and will need replacing sooner or later.
The Merseyside giants are considering a summer swoop for Nice striker Amine Gouiri at the request of the German coach. U21 France international is a product of the Lyon youth academy and went on to play 15 games for the club‘s first team without scoring a goal.
Amine made the switch to Nice in the summer of 2020 and has since grown into a talented youngster in Ligue 1, having managed a more than handy tally of 20 goals and nine assists in 45 matches so far. Gouiri has started the new campaign with a bang, having scored four goals in four matches already while also registering an assist.
The French striker’s look to have put him on the radars of one of the biggest teams in the world in the form of the Reds. Liverpool have a well-established attacking trio of Roberto Firmino, Sadio Mane and Mo Salah, with Diogo Jota and Divock Origi providing cover.
However, Roberto Firmino’s bad goalscoring form over the past couple of campaigns has become a cause for concern, while Divock Origi too is not favoured by the German boss and came close to leaving this past summer.
According to Spanish outlet AS (h/t Liverpool Echo), Liverpool target Kylian Mbappe already has a ‘clear’ image of where he wants to play next season, but he will wait for the first few months of 2022 to make the decision.
The Frenchman has been one of the best footballers from across Europe this season. The former Monaco man has been impressive for Paris Saint-German and has bagged 15 goals and 15 assists in 24 appearances.
Mbappe is about to enter the final six months of his contract term with PSG, and there has been a lot of speculations over his future. Liverpool have been after the World Cup winner for quite some time now. However, the Spanish giants Real Madrid have the edge over the Reds.
It is believed that they were close in securing the deal in the summer, but PSG remained firm in their intentions to keep hold of their star forward. Florentino Pérez’s side have since kept tabs on the 23-year-old in an attempt to lure him in the summer of 2022.
It seems Mbappe currently has several options in front of him. But, it is believed that the French star has already made his decision over his next home. However, he didn’t reveal his preferences before the Champions League round of 16 fixtures of PSG against Real Madrid in February and March in order to avoid ‘divided loyalties’.
