OFFICIAL: Man City Signing Star Competition For This Ligue 1 Forward: Should Pep Launch A Move?

Manchester City Face Stiff Competition For This Ligue 1 Forward: Should Pep Launch A Move?

In a recent report, Jeunes Footeux mentioned that Manchester City are facing stiff competition for Stade Reims forward Hugo Ekitike. It has been mentioned that Man City will have to rival Borussia Dortmund, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Newcastle United and Arsenal in pursuit of the French attacker.

The 19-year-old is having a bright season in French football after producing some fruitful displays as the spearhead of Reims’ attack. Ekitike has registered ten goals and four assists in 24 matches for the French outfit during this campaign across all fronts.

The Reims-born youngster has done well to average 1.3 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game in Ligue 1. However, he has been sloppy when interchanging possession with his teammates up top, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 69.8% in the top tier of French football (stats via whoscored).

Ekitike can put his pace to good use when attempting to run in behind the opposition half. He is proving himself to be a capable finisher in the attacking end of the field and can even create some meaningful openings for others around him. Ekitike is primarily a centre-forward but can even fill in as a left-sided wide player if required.

However, the French whizkid is still quite raw and would need time before he can feature at the highest level every week. Still, Man City should think about engineering a move to bring him to the Etihad Stadium when the transfer window commences later this summer.

Pep Guardiola is in dire need to add a new number nine to his squad. Thus, Ekitike could serve as a perfect candidate to fill in the role of a backup striker at the Mancunian club in the coming seasons.

At 19, the future is quite bright for the French striker as long as he continues to work hard on improving his game with each year. With all things considered, Guardiola would be wise to make a move to acquire the services of Ekitike this summer.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCED: Manchester City finally agree set to sign Ligue 1 giants

Manchester City target set to join Ligue 1 giants

Manchester City are reportedly set to lose out on the pursuit of Isaak Toure, who is expected to join Ligue 1 giants Marseille.

According to 90 Min, Marseille have stolen a march on Manchester City’s pursuit of Isaak Toure. The Le Havre youngster is currently regarded as one of the most gifted defenders in the lower divisions of French football and was a top target for Pep Guardiola.

Manchester City were even regarded as the firm favorite to sign Toure, who had recently travelled to the Etihad training facility. But it appears the tables have turned, with the Ligue 1 giants now on the verge of securing his services ahead of the 2022/23 season.

A centre-back by trade, Toure’s imposing 2.04m frame, coupled with his dogged defensive abilities meant he was already on the radar of several top clubs around Europe. But after a visit to the Etihad facility, he had reportedly cited his desire to join Manchester City, before eventually changing his mind.

Arsenal may have a key role to play in this as Isaak Toure is likely being brought in as a direct replacement for William Saliba. The Frenchman was on loan at Marseille this past season, but he had earlier confirmed the fact that he was going to return to the Emirates at the end of the season rather than remaining with the Ligue 1 giants.

Saliba’s exit has created a massive void in the Marseille defence, with the French club further losing Boubacar Kamara to Aston Villa. With that in mind, the Ligue 1 giants have opted to strengthen their quality at the back by roping in Isaak Toure from Le Havre.

Manchester City, on the other hand, will be disappointed to have missed out on the chance to sign the French defensive prospect. His imposing frame and physical traits might have made him an ideal fit for Premier League football. From a sporting perspective, the 19-year-old would have been an ideal understudy for someone like Ruben Dias.

However, with no promise of regular game-time, a move to Marseille appears to be the more logical destination for Isaak Toure, who will be keen on maintaining his solid form in Ligue 2 and proving himself in the French top-flight next season.

⚽ FOOTBALL NEWS UPDATE | HARRY KANE TO ENGLAND ALL-TIME TOP SCORER

England striker Harry Kane scored his 50th goal after breaking into Germany. With that nick, Kane has now only lost to Wayne Rooney.

Kane saved England from defeat in a 1 1 draw against Germany in the UEFA Nations League.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker converted a penalty in the last three minutes of the game after sending Manuel Neuer tumbling in the wrong direction.

The goal against Germany marked Kane’s 50th goal for the Three Lions in 71 appearances, since his debut in 2015.

Harry Kane has officially become the second highest goalscorer in the history of the England national team behind Rooney.

DEAL CLOSED: Man City finnaly complete deal for £68m 'monster', club already preparing for his exit

Report: Man City could now join race for £68m ‘monster’, club already preparing for his exit

Manchester City could sign AS Monaco sensation Aurélien Tchouaméni this summer as manager Pep Guardiola sets his sights on an heir to Fernandinho, according to reports out of Spain.

The Premier League champions, having retained their top flight crown in the most dramatic way possible, have now set their sights on the summer transfer window.

Three goals in an incredible five minutes on the final day of 2021/2022 gifted City a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa and their fourth title in five seasons under Guardiola, an afternoon which will live long in the memory of all supporters.

However, despite the emotion and joyous title celebrations which have followed since, the club must bid goodbye to faithful servant and legend Fernandinho after his near-decade long stay at Eastlands.

The Brazilian will leave Manchester upon the expiry of his contract in June as sporting director Txiki Begiristain is tasked with finding a suitable replacement.

Leeds United star Kalvin Phillips and Barcelona ace Frenkie de Jong are among the names to have been linked as Guardiola sets his sights on a rotational partner for Rodri in front of City’s back four.

According to reports out of Spain, City could now join the race to sign Monaco starlet Tchouaméni alongside the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

The Blues, alongside Ligue 1 giants Paris-Saint Germain, ‘closely follow’ the 22-year-old and their ‘appearance’ in the ‘long-distance race’ to sign him ‘is not ruled out’.

However. it is believed Tchouameni won’t leave for less than €80 million (£68m).

We believe Guardiola and Begiristain should certainly make a move for the exciting midfielder who already has eight international caps in a competitive France side.

France Under-21 boss Sylvain Ripoll has labelled Tchouaméni a ‘monster‘ with the player’s statistics certainly going some way to explain why.

He finished last season as Monaco’s best-performing player by average match rating (7.32/10) whilst making more interceptions per 90 than any of his teammates and winning the most Man of the Match awards (WhoScored).

Another reason to move is the distinct possibility Tchouameni leaves this summer with his manager Philippe Clement admitting just last Monday that there is a ‘chance’ he leaves Monaco (L’Equipe via GFFN).

Clement went on to suggest that they are already preparing for his departure amid plenty of interest from the continent.

City would be remiss if they didn’t try and take full advantage to back Guardiola with his signing.

DEAL COMPLETE: Manchester City Offer 'Long-Term Contract' to Paris Saint-Germain Defender star

Manchester City Offer ‘Long-Term Contract’ to Paris Saint-Germain Defender Amid Bayern Munich…

Manchester City are looking to offer PSG teenager El Chadaille Bitshiabu a long-term project in the summer following his rise through the youth ranks at the Parc des Princes, according to reports.

The summer transfer window is expected to see Manchester City significant changes to their first-team squad, with Julian Alvarez set to join up with Pep Guadiola’s side for pre-season ahead of the 2022/23 campaign after his move to the Etihad Stadium was announced in January.

City confirmed their capture of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this week after a long-drawn saga over the Norwegian forward’s future amid interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

With Gabriel Jesus being increasingly linked with a switch to Arsenal and ongoing uncertainty surrounding the respective futures of Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan at the club, there could be a series of ins and out during the upcoming summer transfer window.

City returned to winning ways at the weekend as goals from Aymeric Laporte, Rodri, Phil Foden a double from Raheem Sterling capped an emphatic 5-0 victory over Newcastle following the Blues’ Champions League semi-final heartbreak against Madrid last week.

The win saw academy graduate CJ Egan-Riley make his Premier League debut for the Premier League champions, as the young right-back replaced Aymeric Laporte amidst a defensive crisis for Guardiola’s side, who will miss Ruben Dias, John Stones and Kyle Walker for the rest of the season.

Despite interest in Nathan Ake – who joined City for a reported fee of £40 million in 2020 – in January, the Blues have had significant cover in central defence and have instead being linked with a potential swoop for a left-back in the summer.

However, according to the latest information of Téléfoot journalist Julien Maynard, as relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester City have entered the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain star El Chadaille Bitshiabu in the summer.

Bitshiabu, 16, has already featured for Mauricio Pochettino’s senior team after emerging through the academy ranks at PSG this season and has attracted interest from a series of top European sides ahead of the transfer window.

It has been claimed Bayern Munich and Red Bull Salzburg are also monitoring the France U-18 international’s progress, with Bitshiabu establishing himself as one of the best rising defenders across Europe.

City are willing to offer the teenager a ‘long-term project’ but with PSG reportedly ‘closing the door’ on a potential exit for their young centre-back, it remains unlikely at this point the Blues will secure the services of the Frenchman.

"SWAP DEAL": Manchester City finnaly sign 24-year-old in swap, Etihad star wants exit

Report: Manchester City could sign 24-year-old in swap, Etihad star wants exit

Mundo Deportivo claim Manchester City and Barcelona could agree a deal that sees Bernardo Silva move to the Nou Camp – and Frenkie de Jong ends up at The Etihad. They report Silva is keen on leaving Pep Guardiola’s side.

Silva, 27, is just two games away from reaching a huge 250 appearances for Manchester City in just five seasons – having joined the club from Monaco in 2017. He has since had a hand in 98 goals, scoring 48 and creating 50.

He has a contract at City until 2026 but he was rumoured to want to go last summer, since being crucial to Guardiola this season – having a hand in 19 goals. This time, it looks more than likely that he wants a new challenge.

City could use the Portugal star to their advantage, with Xavi keen on having him at the Nou Camp. City, meanwhile, want Netherlands ace de Jong and MD claims a swap deal could be arranged between the two.

Silva has been incredible for City but he might feel it is time for a new challenge. Guardiola looks likely to guide City to a fourth Premier League title in the five years Silva has spent at City – he may want something new.

De Jong has been good for Barcelona, but has had his critics too. While he has been first choice during his three years at Barca, there was hope he would be the new Iniesta or Xavi – something which has not materialised.

A straight swap? Barcelona might want some cash given de Jong only turns 25 this week, while Silva is 28 in August. But a move suits both parties if Silva is keen on an exit – de Jong would certainly suit City’s style of play.

Erling Haaland 'keeping his options open' as Man City among 2022 suitors

A string of Europe’s elite clubs have been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland this summer, but a move for the blockbuster striker has yet to materialise. And it appears that Haaland will be staying in Germany for the time being.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly been preparing a last-minute bid to attempt to take the Norway forward to the Princes des Parc before Tuesday’s 11pm transfer deadline.

The Ligue 1 side were said to be interested in signing Haaland to replace Kylian Mbappe, who could depart Paris for Real Madrid.

But, according to The Athletic, those reports have ‘proved untrue’ and Haaland will in fact continue to ‘keep his options open’ for 2022.

Haaland has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Chelsea and Manchester United apparently keen on the player.

The Blues eventually broke their transfer record by landing Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan for £97.5million earlier this month.

And the Red Devils will welcome Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club later this week after agreeing a deal to sign the global superstar from Juventus.
