OFFICIAL: Man City Signing Star Competition For This Ligue 1 Forward: Should Pep Launch A Move?

Manchester City Face Stiff Competition For This Ligue 1 Forward: Should Pep Launch A Move?

In a recent report, Jeunes Footeux mentioned that Manchester City are facing stiff competition for Stade Reims forward Hugo Ekitike. It has been mentioned that Man City will have to rival Borussia Dortmund, Bayer 04 Leverkusen, Newcastle United and Arsenal in pursuit of the French attacker.

The 19-year-old is having a bright season in French football after producing some fruitful displays as the spearhead of Reims’ attack. Ekitike has registered ten goals and four assists in 24 matches for the French outfit during this campaign across all fronts.

The Reims-born youngster has done well to average 1.3 shots, 0.6 key passes and 0.9 dribbles per game in Ligue 1. However, he has been sloppy when interchanging possession with his teammates up top, as evidenced by his pass success rate of 69.8% in the top tier of French football (stats via whoscored).

Ekitike can put his pace to good use when attempting to run in behind the opposition half. He is proving himself to be a capable finisher in the attacking end of the field and can even create some meaningful openings for others around him. Ekitike is primarily a centre-forward but can even fill in as a left-sided wide player if required.

However, the French whizkid is still quite raw and would need time before he can feature at the highest level every week. Still, Man City should think about engineering a move to bring him to the Etihad Stadium when the transfer window commences later this summer.

Pep Guardiola is in dire need to add a new number nine to his squad. Thus, Ekitike could serve as a perfect candidate to fill in the role of a backup striker at the Mancunian club in the coming seasons.

At 19, the future is quite bright for the French striker as long as he continues to work hard on improving his game with each year. With all things considered, Guardiola would be wise to make a move to acquire the services of Ekitike this summer.

DEAL COMPLETE: Manchester City Offer 'Long-Term Contract' to Paris Saint-Germain Defender star

Manchester City Offer ‘Long-Term Contract’ to Paris Saint-Germain Defender Amid Bayern Munich…

Manchester City are looking to offer PSG teenager El Chadaille Bitshiabu a long-term project in the summer following his rise through the youth ranks at the Parc des Princes, according to reports.

The summer transfer window is expected to see Manchester City significant changes to their first-team squad, with Julian Alvarez set to join up with Pep Guadiola’s side for pre-season ahead of the 2022/23 campaign after his move to the Etihad Stadium was announced in January.

City confirmed their capture of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this week after a long-drawn saga over the Norwegian forward’s future amid interest from the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

With Gabriel Jesus being increasingly linked with a switch to Arsenal and ongoing uncertainty surrounding the respective futures of Raheem Sterling, Riyad Mahrez and Ilkay Gundogan at the club, there could be a series of ins and out during the upcoming summer transfer window.

City returned to winning ways at the weekend as goals from Aymeric Laporte, Rodri, Phil Foden a double from Raheem Sterling capped an emphatic 5-0 victory over Newcastle following the Blues’ Champions League semi-final heartbreak against Madrid last week.

The win saw academy graduate CJ Egan-Riley make his Premier League debut for the Premier League champions, as the young right-back replaced Aymeric Laporte amidst a defensive crisis for Guardiola’s side, who will miss Ruben Dias, John Stones and Kyle Walker for the rest of the season.

Despite interest in Nathan Ake – who joined City for a reported fee of £40 million in 2020 – in January, the Blues have had significant cover in central defence and have instead being linked with a potential swoop for a left-back in the summer.

However, according to the latest information of Téléfoot journalist Julien Maynard, as relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester City have entered the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain star El Chadaille Bitshiabu in the summer.

Bitshiabu, 16, has already featured for Mauricio Pochettino’s senior team after emerging through the academy ranks at PSG this season and has attracted interest from a series of top European sides ahead of the transfer window.

It has been claimed Bayern Munich and Red Bull Salzburg are also monitoring the France U-18 international’s progress, with Bitshiabu establishing himself as one of the best rising defenders across Europe.

City are willing to offer the teenager a ‘long-term project’ but with PSG reportedly ‘closing the door’ on a potential exit for their young centre-back, it remains unlikely at this point the Blues will secure the services of the Frenchman.

"SWAP DEAL": Manchester City finnaly sign 24-year-old in swap, Etihad star wants exit

Report: Manchester City could sign 24-year-old in swap, Etihad star wants exit

Mundo Deportivo claim Manchester City and Barcelona could agree a deal that sees Bernardo Silva move to the Nou Camp – and Frenkie de Jong ends up at The Etihad. They report Silva is keen on leaving Pep Guardiola’s side.

Silva, 27, is just two games away from reaching a huge 250 appearances for Manchester City in just five seasons – having joined the club from Monaco in 2017. He has since had a hand in 98 goals, scoring 48 and creating 50.

He has a contract at City until 2026 but he was rumoured to want to go last summer, since being crucial to Guardiola this season – having a hand in 19 goals. This time, it looks more than likely that he wants a new challenge.

City could use the Portugal star to their advantage, with Xavi keen on having him at the Nou Camp. City, meanwhile, want Netherlands ace de Jong and MD claims a swap deal could be arranged between the two.

Silva has been incredible for City but he might feel it is time for a new challenge. Guardiola looks likely to guide City to a fourth Premier League title in the five years Silva has spent at City – he may want something new.

De Jong has been good for Barcelona, but has had his critics too. While he has been first choice during his three years at Barca, there was hope he would be the new Iniesta or Xavi – something which has not materialised.

A straight swap? Barcelona might want some cash given de Jong only turns 25 this week, while Silva is 28 in August. But a move suits both parties if Silva is keen on an exit – de Jong would certainly suit City’s style of play.

Erling Haaland 'keeping his options open' as Man City among 2022 suitors

A string of Europe’s elite clubs have been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland this summer, but a move for the blockbuster striker has yet to materialise. And it appears that Haaland will be staying in Germany for the time being.

Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly been preparing a last-minute bid to attempt to take the Norway forward to the Princes des Parc before Tuesday’s 11pm transfer deadline.

The Ligue 1 side were said to be interested in signing Haaland to replace Kylian Mbappe, who could depart Paris for Real Madrid.

But, according to The Athletic, those reports have ‘proved untrue’ and Haaland will in fact continue to ‘keep his options open’ for 2022.

Haaland has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Chelsea and Manchester United apparently keen on the player.

The Blues eventually broke their transfer record by landing Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan for £97.5million earlier this month.

And the Red Devils will welcome Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club later this week after agreeing a deal to sign the global superstar from Juventus.

OFFICIAL SIGNING: Manchester City finnaly to signing pushing to land 21-year-old defender star

Manchester City ‘football group’ pushing to land 21-year-old Ecuadorian defender

Manchester City football group are hoping to secure a deal to sign Ecuadorian defensive talent Jackson Porozo.

According to a recent report from O Jogo, as relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester City’s “football group” remain on course to sign Jackson Porozo. The Ecuadorian defender currently plies his trade with Boavista in the Portuguese top flight, but he could soon be on the verge of a move to one of the football clubs owned by the City group.

The report claims the Man City group has made an approach to sign Porozo, and a move “could happen soon”. The claims contradict earlier reports from a different Portuguese source that had revealed Boavista’s rejection of the €3 million bid offered by the City group.

A native of San Lorenzo, in his home country of Ecuador, Porozo moved to Europe in 2020, joining Boavista in a deal worth half a million euros. He was coming on the back of a non-existent spell in Brazil, with Santos FC, where he had failed to make a single appearance, per Transfermarkt.

The defender has enjoyed a swift rise to prominence with Boavista. In two years, he has racked up 34 competitive appearances with the Portuguese outfit, more than half of which have come in the ongoing season.

A centre-back by trade, Porozo’s contributions in defence have been critical in helping Boavista stay out of the relegation battle. He has also impressed the onlookers with his tall 1.92 frame, which makes him an intimidating figure for the opposition attackers.

Such dominance has put the City Group on red alert as they look to snap him up in the summer transfer window. Although the Ecuadorian international may not necessarily be drafted into Manchester City’s senior team next season, the City Group has many potential destinations lined up for him.

ES Troyes in Ligue 1 or Girona FC in La Liga, in particular, are two logical clubs where Porozo can further prove himself and hone his skills as a defender. However, with the report still unclear surrounding the details of a potential agreement, it remains to be seen whether City Group can sign the talented defender in the first place.

Manchester City Hold 'Long-Standing Signing' in Real Madrid Target Following Ligue 1 Exit Links

Manchester City Hold ‘Long-Standing Interest’ in Real Madrid Target Following Ligue 1 Exit Links

Manchester City have long been admirers of Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe, who is expected to be heading to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer, according to a new report.

The Premier League champions are set to battle Real Madrid in the chase for arguably the world’s most sought-after forward in the summer, Erling Haaland, who is likely to leave Borussia Dortmund once his £64 million release clause is activated at the end of the campaign.

It has been reported by various sources this week that whilst Haaland did prefer a move to Spain, Real Madrid’s desire to finally get Kylian Mbappe through the door from PSG will put their pursuit of the Norway international in serious jeopardy.

Mbappe, who was desperate to seal a sensational switch to the Santiago Bernabeu last summer, has established his status as one of the deadliest forwards in world football since bursting on to the scene following a breakthrough league-winning campaign at AS Monaco in 2018.

According to the latest information of Mark Ogden of ESPN, Manchester City and Liverpool have maintained a ‘long-standing interest’ in the France international, who is set to be handed a mega contract at the Santiago Bernabeu that will see him earn around £800,000-per-week on a free transfer.

After failing to engineer a move to Real Madrid last summer, Mbappe is almost certainly going to join Los Blancos after running down his existing deal at the Parc des Princes despite Ligue 1 giants’ efforts to convince the 23-year-old to extend his stay in France.

Though Manchester City have previously been linked with a swoop for Mbappe, they are expected to steer clear of the World Cup winner as they try and secure the arrival of Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

Whilst Real Madrid would reportedly like to bring in Haaland alongside Mbappe, a deal for the Norwegian marksman will not be feasible given the financial package that the PSG forward will be offered in the Spanish capital.

OFFICIAL SIGNING: Manchester City signing Ligue 1 striker as Erling Haaland alternative

Manchester City eye Ligue 1 striker as Erling Haaland alternative

Manchester City are prepared to target Jonathan David if their pursuit of top-target Erling Haaland hits a snag.

According to Fichajes, Manchester City want to bulletproof their summer plans to sign a new striker, with Jonathan David featuring on their shortlist of names as alternatives to top target Erling Haaland.

The Premier League giants are unsure about the Norwegian’s signature and are keeping their options open. Erling Haaland is tipped to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer, and a big move to one of the elite clubs in Europe awaits the striker. A fixed release clause in his Dortmund contract does make a deal look straightforward.

However, the other costs involved, including salaries, signing-on fee and agent commissions, makes it a costly affair even for some of the richest sides around. Only a few clubs could realistically afford to sign the Norwegian. Manchester City are among those interested. Real Madrid and Barcelona have reportedly tabled offers already, which could see the Premier League champions miss out on his signing.

Pep Guardiola missed out on signing Harry Kane last summer and went into the season without a recognised striker. While the club have fared well, the manager does not want to repeat the situation next season — hence the desperate need to bring in a new leading man in the next window.

Despite their financial resources, signing Haaland is not guaranteed, and Manchester City are prepared to look elsewhere if they fail in the Norwegian’s pursuit. They have drawn up a list of potential alternatives, consisting of names such as Kane, Lautaro Martinez and Jonathan David.

Manchester City keeps tabs on Martinez, but the Inter Milan star could also cost upwards of €75 million, considering he signed a new contract back in August, while Kane will also cost in excess of £100 million. Jonathan David, however, could be a potentially cheaper alternative and a long-term prospect.

David is reportedly ready to leave Lille in the summer as he eyes a move to the Premier League to further his career. The Canadian has had a fruitful spell at the French club and is prepared to leverage his form to secure a move to a bigger club.

Arsenal and Liverpool are some of the Premier League’s top sides interested in the striker. However, if Manchester City come in with an offer, the race could get more intense. Guardiola’s side certainly have the financial means to pay a significant transfer fee and blow away competition for the player.

David’s overall skills and style of play could also suit Guardiola’s tactics at Man City. Lille are prepared to let him leave if a financially reasonable offer arrives in the window. Moreover, if David continues to perform consistently until the season ends, the demand for him will soar.

However, Manchester City’s priority is signing Haaland, and only if they fail in the Norwegian’s pursuit will they approach Lille over David. It could complicate things, as other suitors might make early offers to seal a move for the Canadian, leaving the Premier League champions high and dry once more.
