Transfer Signing: Chelsea finnaly to signing earmark Ligue 1 ace as an alternative to PL star

Transfer watch: Chelsea earmark Ligue 1 ace as an alternative to PL star

According to Evening Standard, Chelsea are extensively scouting AS Monaco star Aurelien Tchouameni and consider him a transfer alternative to West Ham United maestro Declan Rice.

The Hammers midfielder has been making waves throughout the Premier League in the last few seasons. Rice who was let go from the Chelsea academy at an early age has made a name for himself with our West London rivals. The English midfielder is a dependable asset in the middle of the park and has grown in stature ever since David Moyes has taken charge of the Hammers.

Whilst many clubs are thought to be interested in the player, Rice could come at an extremely expensive price even if the Blues manage to ward off any other suitors for the defensive midfielder. The former Everton manager has sung praises of the 23-year-old English international and gone on to state that he is worth more than £100m.

With all of these developments, the West Londoners could look to Tchouameni as a more attainable alternative in the market. The French midfielder is also thought to have quite a few admirers for himself but it seems that it would be an easier task to lure him to Stamford Bridge as compared to Declan Rice.

The Blues possess a solid and dependable partnership in the middle of the field but with the likes of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante entering their 30s, the club could do well to add a young name to help future proof their midfield. The 22-year-old footballer could perfectly fit this bill.

The West Londoners have struggled with injury scares and a young exciting prospect such as Tchouameni could help add more depth to the squad. A move such as this could potentially be even more beneficial should Saul Niguez return to Atletico Madrid after the end of his loan spell.

At 22, the French professional footballer still has a lot to give and could be a great long term asset provided that he develops well at the club. He has already played 80 games across all competition for the The Monégasques to date, bagging six goals and six assists in the process.

That being said, adapting to the conditions of the Premier League can be a tough task for any footballer who has plied his trade in another league for such a long time. In those respects Rice could be a safer bet due to the experience he possesses in England’s top-flight footballing competition.

Whilst there is nothing concrete as of yet, Thomas Tuchel would be looking to add more reinforcement to his squad after a relatively quiet time in the January transfer window. Aurelien Tchouameni could be a great addition to our current group of players but only time can tell whether or not the player will make way to Stamford Bridge.

FANTASTIC SIGNING: Liverpool agree complete bidding war for€30m-rated Ligue 1 midfielder

Liverpool in bidding war for€30m-rated Ligue 1 midfielder

Renato Sanches is expected to leave Lille in the winter transfer window, with Les Dogues desperate for some financial injection. Barcelona had emerged as the likely destination for the midfielder, but their new manager Xavi has put an end to the Catalan club’s pursuit of the footballer.

It has paved the way for the Merseyside giants to emerge as the undisputed favourite in the race to add Portugal international. Sanches himself prefers a move to Liverpool, where he can be offered sporting stability and a better salary.

The Reds are already in advanced negotiations with the Ligue 1 champions surrounding the acquisition of Renato, who has been valued at nearly €30m. A product of the Benfica youth academy, the 24-year-old midfielder was one of the rising stars in Ligue 1 last campaign.

The Portuguese midfielder racked up 23 games for the French club, playing a crucial role in helping the team leapfrog PSG for the league title, in what turned out as one of the most miraculous moments in French football over the past few decades.

In light of his excellent 2020/21 season, the former Bayern Munich midfielder was destined for a move elsewhere in the summer.

Sanches was even courted by ex-Barcelona coach Ronald Koeman, but an untimely injury in mid-August ruled out the possibility of a departure. The Blaugrana have since opted not to retain an interest in Renato, with Xavi Hernandez unsure of the player’s talents.

FINNALY – HE JOINING: Liverpool finnaly complete deal negotiations with€40m-rated Ligue 1 star

Liverpool held negotiations with€40m-rated Ligue 1 star

Barcelona have allegedly emerged as another possible destination for AS Monaco midfielder and Liverpool target Aurelien Tchouameni.

In spite of his side’s inconsistent showings in Ligue 1, the Frenchman has emerged as one of the most in-demand players in Europe.

Considering the finances that would be involved in any potential transfer, a move to a Premier League outfit appears most likely with the Reds, Chelsea Liverpool and Manchester United having been linked with him in the past.

However, according to Sport, Blaugrana are ready to get involved in the hunt for the 22-year-old’s signature, providing that he doesn’t go somewhere else in the summer.

The report adds that the Catalans realistically have little interest in pushing through a deal later this year, instead preferring to make him a priority 12 months further down the line.

The Liverpool-linked player possesses a contract at Les Monegasques until the summer of 2024, although his side may be tempted into a sale should the club fail to secure European football for the 2022-23 season.

Elsewhere, boss Jurgen Klopp has claimed it’d be “crazy” to consider the prospect of a potential quadruple following last weekend’s EFL Cup triumph.

“No team in the history of English football ever won the quadruple, right? Because it’s really difficult. We are not even close to thinking about any crazy stuff like that,” Jurgen told reporters.

“If people think we have a chance, they see it as a compliment but I don’t see it as a compliment. We face a lot of really good football teams between now and the end of May.”

Signing this Month: Shaqiri deal exit – could directly help Liverpool sign the next Kylian Mbappé

A good businessman builds relationships like bridges. When a deal is to be had, generosity and wiggle-room is always afforded in hope that the favour may return one day and bridges will be crossed over and over again.

Michael Edwards’ reported deal with Lyon for Xherdan Shaqiri certainly has a feeling of that kind of bargain being struck, with a price of just £5.1m (€6m) being talked up in France.

Liverpool may have been able to demand steeper fees from elsewhere for Shaqiri who caught the eye at Euro 2020 and who is still at the peak of his powers. But a deal for Lyon could have been more enticing because of the underlying implications it could provide.

Lyon are a hotbed of youth talent and their young and burgeoning team provide the perfect hunting ground for Michael Edwards and Liverpool for future windows.

Rayan Cherki, the creative 17-year-old, is one such enticing talent who the club are reportedly keeping an eye on. The attacking midfielder is dubbed as one of the best emerging young players to have been developed in France since Kylian Mbappé.

Liverpool got key transfer decision right: club reportedly regret £72m signing Reds were linked with

Liverpool have earned a reputation for savvy dealings in the transfer market. The Reds are one of the most respected operators when it comes to recruitment and the club’s net spend is a huge part of that. Sometimes it’s the deals that you don’t do which need to be applauded. Liverpool got it right not signing Nicolas Pepe with Arsenal reportedly regretting the move.

The summer of 2019 was one which saw a protracted transfer saga in the Premier League.

Two clubs were reportedly wrestling over the future of one of Ligue 1’s hottest properties.

Reports were coming out daily linking Liverpool with Nicolas Pepe.

The Ivorian winger had just scored 22 and assisted 11 for Lille and was destined for a move as a result.

However, Goal claimed that Liverpool interest in Pepe was minimal despite reports to the contrary in France.

The transfer saga was ended when Arsenal signed Nicolas Pepe for a club record £72m.

BREAK THE BANK: Liverpool finnaly agree to sign€40m-rated France international

Liverpool are desperate to sign€40m-rated France international

Liverpool, Man United, and Man City have joined Real Madrid in the battle to sign Aurelien Tchouameni. The PL trio might have even leapfrogged Real Madrid in the chase, with the Monaco youngster leaning towards a move to the PL.

France international has established himself as one of the best midfielders in Ligue 1 since joining Les Monegasques from Bordeaux in winter 2020. Two years since his move to Monaco, Tchouameni has become a much sought-after footballer in the transfer market, with several high profile teams around Europe tailing him.

To date, Aurelien has turned out 86 times for Monaco, with 41 of those outings coming in the ongoing season. The 22-year-old midfielder’s progress has not gone unnoticed, with several European clubs, including Real Madrid, Liverpool, Man United and Man City, setting their sights on the footballer.

Recent reports have claimed that the French midfielder is a priority summer target for Los Blancos, with the La Liga giants keen on landing a long-term successor for Casemiro. The Frenchman, with his versatility, is a viable target for the Spanish club, with the player reportedly keen on joining Los Blancos.

Apart from the PL trio and Real Madrid, Aurelien is also a target for Juventus. But Tchouameni has no interest in moving to Italy, leaving Liverpool, Man United and Man City as the front-runners in his pursuit.

PL champions Man City are also in the battle for the Frenchman, with the midfielder emerging as a possible successor for Fernandinho.

DEAL CLOSED: Liverpool complete deal after told to make approach for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder

Liverpool told to make approach for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder

Former Premier League attacker Stan Collymore has told Liverpool to make a ‘cheeky’ proposal to bring Georginio Wijnaldum back to Anfield.

The 31-year-old star left Merseyside as a free agent last year and joined the French giants Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the Netherlands midfielder has thus far endured a difficult time in the country and was described as a ‘flop’ and ‘non-existent’ following the recent defeat to the Ligue 1 rivals Nice.

Already linked with a return to the Premier League, Stan told the Mirror that the English outfit should entertain a summer reunion.

“Wijnaldum is having a proper wobbler at Paris Saint-Germain and, despite the fact he’s earning a king’s ransom, if I were Jurgen Klopp I’d chance my arm with a cheeky low-ball offer to try to get him back to Liverpool.

“He’s 32 in November, the same age as Jordan Henderson and four years younger than James Milner, and he’d be a great player for the youngsters at Anfield such as Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones to learn from, too.

“I’m not usually a fan of going back but if there’s a cheap deal to be done, my old club could still be getting a proper, top-level performer.”

The 51-year-old Collymore went on to say that were the player available for £5 million or £8 million then Jurgen Klopp’s side should be very interested.

So far this term, Wijnaldum has netted three times and pitched up two assists in 29 appearances in all competitions.

FINNALY SIGNING: Stan Collymore agrees Liverpool to signing World Class from Ligue 1 this summer

Stan Collymore urges Liverpool to re-sign Gini Wijnaldum from PSG this summer

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp should try to resign former midfielder Gini Wijnaldum in the summer.

That’s according to former Anfield star Stan Collymore, who reckons the Dutchman’s struggles at Paris Saint-Germain make him an enticing proposition for his old club.

Wijnaldum has struggled to make an impact in the French capital and has admitted he hasn’t found being there easy.

And Collymore is adamant a move for him would make perfect sense given the ease with which he would slot back into his old club.

He said: “Wijnaldum is having a proper wobbler at Paris Saint-Germain and, despite the fact he’s earning a king’s ransom, if I were Jurgen Klopp I’d chance my arm with a cheeky low-ball offer to try to get him back to Liverpool.

“He’s 32 in November, the same age as Jordan Henderson and four years younger than James Milner, and he’d be a great player for the youngsters at Anfield such as Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones to learn from, too.

“I’m not usually a fan of going back but if there’s a cheap deal to be done, my old club could still be getting a proper, top-level performer.

“If Liverpool are serious then having Milner, Henderson and Wijnaldum around that midfield for another 12 or 24 months could not only help Jones and Elliott but it would also crucially get an extra body into the area as well.

“He knows the way they play, he knows the manager well, he knows the dressing-room well, and if PSG would say, ‘Look, we’ll get him off the wage bill for free or even £5million or £8m’, you’d take him.

“He’s generally a good pro, he doesn’t create problems.”

Wijnaldum spent five years at Anfield, making 237 appearances and winning four major trophies in his time on Merseyside before leaving on a free last summer.

He was initially set to join Barcelona but Ronald Koeman’s departure opened the door for PSG and Wijnaldum opted to join the Ligue 1 club instead.

Collymore added: “I know some Liverpool fans were miffed that he decided to go for the dough but if you’re looking around and saying, ‘Shall we get a 25-year-old or 26-year-old midfielder for £15m to £20m who we’ll have to teach to play the Liverpool way or someone who will slot back in at a snip?’, then it’s an absolute no-brainer.

“Wijnaldum will be very motivated and wanting to play because he will want to be involved with the Dutch at the World Cup later this year.

“He knows the system, the manager, the other midfielders so he’s hand in glove, and I say, ‘Take him’.

“He’s unhappy in Paris despite earning a shedload of money and he might just fancy swallowing a little pride in getting himself back to Merseyside.”

TRANSFER NEWS: The star transfer signing moves, Ligue 2 prospect agreement

Liverpool news round-up: Adeyemi transfer still possible, Ligue 2 prospect linked, Reds handed Raphinha setback

Liverpool would reportedly ‘gladly take’ RB Salzburg’s Karim Adeyemi in the summer, but a transfer to Borussia Dortmund is more likely at this moment.

The German has emerged as one of the hottest prospects in Europe over the last year, establishing himself as the key man for Die Roten Bullen and enjoying his international debut with his country’s national team.

This season Karim has 14 goals and two assists in 17 matches in the Austrian Bundesliga and also three goals and two assists in six outings in the UEFA Champions League, numbers which have not gone unnoticed around Europe.

All of the elite clubs are interested in the 20-year-old’s signature, including Jurgen Klopp’s side, who have been named as potential buyers on numerous occasions in the last multiple months.

Back in November, it was reported that the Anfield outfit would be appealing for the talent, and a call from the manager would make the player think twice about his future.

At the minute, Die Borussen appear to be leading that hunt and the attacking sensation has already turned down an offer from RB Leipzig, Bild reports.

That means there is still time for the Merseysiders to get their man if they want, although Adeyemi is clearly leaning towards BVB at this point.

Whether Liverpool would want to, given they have just signed Luis Diaz, is another topic, but there are still doubts about star winger Mohamed Salah’s future, with his deal expiring next summer and no extension signed as yet.

Liverpool are closely watching the development of Le Havre’ 17-year-old sensation Andy Logbo, Foot Mercato.

The youngster is already making waves in France with his showings in the youth competitions, which have now put several clubs on red alert.

While Ligue 1 outfits are already keeping a close eye on his development, the centre-forward has also emerged as a possible target for them.

Manager Jurgen Klopp aims to build the base of the future Reds attack amid the uncertain long-term future of some of the front three.

Mohamed Salah, for one, is yet to reach an agreement with the board with his contract expiring in June 2023.

The Egypt international may well leave Merseyside in the summer, whereas Roberto Firmino’s future at the club isn’t guaranteed either.

The Premier League heavyweights could lose another player in the attack in the form of Divock Origi.

He remained with the side in January in spite of interest from West Ham United, but the Belgian is guaranteed to part ways in the summer in search of regular playing time elsewhere.

It has accentuated the need for new players in the offensive area, with Klopp especially looking for youngsters that have the ability to become an asset for Liverpool in the future.

Leeds United are confident that Liverpool-linked Raphinha will put pen to paper on a ‘huge’ fresh contract, according to a recent report.

The Whites star winger has been heavily linked with a host of Premier League clubs including Jurgen Klopp’s side, West Ham United and Chelsea, with the Hammers believed to have failed with a club-record proposal late in the January window.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side have been in talks with the 25-year-old and his agent, former Blues midfielder Deco, for a while over a contract extension, with his existing deal at Elland Road set to expire in the summer of 2024.

According to a recent report from Football Insider, the management are prepared to make the Reds target the highest-paid player in the squad, offering the Brazilian a significant pay rise as a reward for his brilliant performances over the last two campaigns.

The same report continues, by saying that the club are confident the in-demand South American will agree to fresh terms ‘within weeks’.

He has excelled for the Yorkshire outfit since signing from the Ligue 1 side Rennes in October 2020, scoring 14 times and providing 11 assists in 51 appearances in all competitions.

ANNOUNCED TODAY: Liverpool reach agreement on signing€12m-rated frontman from Ligue 1 club

Liverpool keen on signing€12m-rated frontman from Ligue 1 club

Liverpool are allegedly among the clubs keen on a deal for Nantes striker Randal Kolo Muani.

The Anfield outfit have been named alongside AC Milan and Eintracht Frankfurt as the potential buyers for the 23-year-old.

The former French Championnat National outfit Boulogne player, Randal has made a promising start to life in the Ligue 1.

Now a recent report from reputable German publication SportBILD has claimed that manager Jurgen Klopp is interested in the Frenchman.

The same report adds that the Geran is willing to ‘fight’ for the centre-forward and may hold the advantage because of financial power წhich may be reflected in a higher salary.

So far this campaign Muani, the towering forward who can also operate from wide wings as well as centrally, has netted seven and provided three assists in 18 top-flight outings.

Likely to lose the out-of-favour Belgium international Divock Origi at the end of the term, it is clear to see why the club would be attentive to the possibility of signing a replacement for nothing.

Elsewhere, Manchester City are allegedly set to rival Liverpool in the hunt to sign Barcelona’s midfield sensation Gavi.

Gavi’s current deal with the Catalan club is set to expire in the summer of 2023 and includes a €50.2m (£42m) exit clause, which is believed to be drawing interest from several top European sides.
