OFFICIAL CONFIRMED: Chelsea agree pay £8.5m World-Class signing to compete with Reece James

Chelsea target £8.5m signing to compete with Reece James

Chelsea are considering a move for Lens right-back Jonathan Clauss, according to reports in France.

Thomas Tuchel needs to bolster all areas of his defence ahead of the new season following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen, while both Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso could also leave the club before the end of the window.

Azpilicueta was adept at covering for Reece James on Chelsea’s right flank, but according to French newspaper La Voix du Nord, the club are targeting Clauss if the Spaniard departs.

The report claims that Chelsea have been monitoring Clauss’ performances in Ligue 1, while Lens are open to selling the 29-year-old if their €10 million (£8.5m) valuation is met.

Clauss was Lens’ standout performer in Ligue 1 last season, providing 11 assists and scoring five goals during the campaign.

The right-back was also named in Ligue 1’s Team of the Season which also included Marquinhos, William Saliba and Kylian Mbappe.

Clauss has just one year remaining on his contract with Lens and has no plans to extend his current deal, as he has attracted interest from Marseille and Atletico Madrid, as well as Chelsea.

During an interview with RMC Sport in May, Clauss was asked what club he dreamt of joining.

‘Since I was a kid, It’s Chelsea and it remains Chelsea,’ he replied.

Clauss has been capped four times by France’s national team and is pushing to secure a place in Didier Deschamps’ squad for their World Cup campaign later this year.

Chelsea interested in signing€65m-rated Ligue 1 defender

Achraf Hakimi could be staring at an uncertain future at PSG following a disappointing debut season in the French capital. It has put Chelsea on alert, with the PL giants considering a move for Morocco international in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Blues were in the market for Achraf last summer when he was still at Inter Milan. But the move did not materialise, as the African defender ended up opting for a switch to Ligue 1 by joining the Parisians in order to pair up with attacking superstars such as Mbappe, Messi and Neymar, along with ex-Real Madrid teammate Ramos.

One year later, the move has not quite panned out as expected. Despite recording four goals and six assists, Hakimi has failed to live up to the expectations, often struggling to make the desired impact on the right flank, especially in key games.

Although the mood in the Parisians camp has improved drastically since Kylian Mbappe’s decision to snub Real Madrid, the Moroccan defender is one of many footballers who could look for a way out of the Parisians at the end of the campaign.

And it appears the Blues are more than willing to provide him an exit route and a platform to showcase his talents in the PL. The Blues’ interest in the African defender primarily stems from the uncertainties surrounding the futures of Reece James and Azpilicueta.

DEAL CLOSE: Man Utd finnaly to agree deal for Ligue 1 World-Class in-demand defender

Man Utd determined to agree deal for Ajax in-demand defender

Manchester United are allegedly ‘seriously interested’ in snapping up Ajax defender Jurrien Timber in the summer transfer window.

The player enjoyed an impressive 2021-22 season for his Dutch club, making 43 outings in all competitions, netting three goals and grabbing two assists in the process.

In de Joden’s title-winning Eredivisie campaign, he featured 30 times, registering three goals and two assists, while the 20-year-old also appeared eight times in the UEFA Champions League this term.

He only has a little over 24 months left to run on his existing deal, though, and there has been plenty of speculation surrounding his long-term future in the latest weeks.

Incoming Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag is said to be interested in bringing the six-time Netherlands international with him to the Theatre of Dreams this summer.

According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, Julian Nagelsmann’s Bayern Munich made an official enquiry for the talent but were told that the ace is currently in talks regarding a possible switch to England.

Plettenberg states that Ralf Rangnick’s side are ‘seriously interested’ in him, and conversations with the youngster’s camp have already taken place.

When asked about his future in April, the Dutchman said that he was in no rush to leave de Joden, but Jurrien spoke of his close relationship with Erik.

“I’m good at Ajax. I can still learn a lot, especially if we continue to play in the Champions League,” he told Het Parool.

“He deserves it (the Man United job). Ten Hag has been very important to me personally. Under him I became the footballer, the man I am today.

“The coach talked to me a lot. He’s been very critical, in a good, constructive way. I won’t forget it any time soon.”

OFFICIAL: Ligue 1 Defender Discusses His Future Amid complete deal to Chelsea

PSG Defender Discusses His Future Amid Links to Chelsea

Paris Saint-Germain defender Presnel Kimpembe has a contract with the capital club until 2024. In the last few weeks, the soon-to-be 27-year-old has also seen his name in the rumor mill, linking him to a reunion with former manager Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea.

With a new regime set to take over at PSG, with Luis Campos coming in as the sporting advisor and having full power in the transfer market for the French club, there are many within the squad wondering if they’re part of the future.

RMC Sport relayed the remarks made by Kimpembe when the central defender was asked about his future with his boyhood club.

The France international stated that he understands the importance of where he’s at in his career. Kimpembe added that he’s eager to meet with the management to discuss his future.

“Everyone knows my love for PSG. It’s mutual. I’m turning 27 in August, a key moment in my career,” Kimpembe said.

“My next contract will be important. I’m waiting to meet the new sports management, to know the new project; I’m interested. We’ll have to discuss fairly quickly.”

There’s no denying Kimpembe’s love for PSG, but the inconsistency he brings can be frustrating; it’s why the departure of Thiago Silva continues to be felt. The Ligue 1 side rolled the dice allowing the Brazilian to leave, thinking Kimpembe would slide alongside Marquinhos and replace Silva. However, it hasn’t gone as planned.

With Ramos having injury issues, it will be interesting to see if Campos decides to cash in on Kimpembe with a possible move to Chelsea or perhaps the Portuguese club chief feels he’s part of his plans. This summer will tell what the future holds.

FANTASTIC SIGNING: Chelsea complete deal to sign No.9 Ligue 1 centre-forward

Chelsea enter the battle to sign No.9 Ligue 1 centre-forward

Jonathan David is reportedly among the footballers targeted by Chelsea ahead of the new campaign. The Blues are in the market for new faces as they look to undergo a massive overhaul following the arrival of the new owners.

The London club have already identified quite a few options in the transfer market, with the list including Canada international. The Lille striker is a man in demand this summer following his blazing displays for the French club and the centre-forward side.

David could look to earn a big-money move later this summer, with the PL emerging as a possible destination. The report suggests the Blues are keeping close tabs on the progress of Jonathan. The 22-year-old centre-forward is coming on the back of yet another impressive campaign in Ligue 1 that saw him score 15 league goals in 38 games.

The Canadian striker has been an ever-present figure in Les Dogues’ attacking setup, impressing the onlookers with his dynamism and goalscoring ability. Jonathan’s displays have been even more fantastic on the international stage.

In only 30 caps for the Canadian national team, David has recorded 20 goals and has played a crucial role in his nation’s qualification for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup.

Romelu Lukaku has remained keen on leaving the Blues in the summer, with Real Madrid reportedly keeping close tabs on his situation. The London club will be wary of the fact that Jonathan’s value could skyrocket if he enjoys a solid World Cup.

OFFICIAL SIGNING: Man Utd finnaly to agreeing personal terms with Ligue 1 star ahead of £51m move

Man Utd close to agreeing personal terms with Ajax star ahead of £51million move

Manchester United are in talks with Ajax star Antony over a £51million move.

Antony has been persistently linked with a move to United after starring under Erik ten Hag at Ajax last season.

Goal Brasil now report the Premier League side are making serious progress in making the 22-year-old their first signing of the summer and the first of the new era at Old Trafford.

The report claims Antony’s representatives have arrived in Europe with the intention of ‘accelerating’ or ‘closing’ a deal with United.

The winger’s future is expected to be decided in the coming days with the transfer valued in the region of €60million.

Antony finished last season’s Eredivisie-winning campaign with 12 goals and 10 assists in 33 league appearances, missing the final seven games of the season with an ankle injury.

United also hope to sign another member of that Ajax side in Jurrien Timber – although latest reports from Netherlands would suggest the 20-year-old could stay in Netherlands for another season.

Frenkie de Jong, who played under ten Hag at Ajax, is another coveted by the Premier League side. United are close to agreeing a €80m fee with Barcelona but it remains to be seen whether the 25-year-old can be convinced to leave the Camp Nou.

Ten Hag is eager to bring in a versatile forward option with 37-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo the team’s only consistent source of goals last season.

Benfica striker Darwin Nunez is a target but the 22-year-old has now agreed personal terms with rivals Liverpool.

CONFIRMED SIGNING: The Superstar responds €10m offer short of Ligue 1 star’s asking price

Hope for Chelsea as Spanish giants €10m short of Ligue 1 star’s asking price

According to Sky Italia and Fabrizio Romano (h/t Football.London), Chelsea have been handed a glimmer of hope in the pursuit of talented French midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni with Real Madrid said to be €10million off the asking price Monaco are demanding for their prized asset.

Tchouameni joined Monaco from Bordeaux in 2020 and has since then gone on to establish himself as one of the most talented defensive midfield prospects in the world. His performances for the Ligue 1 giants have earned him plaudits from around Europe.

The 22-year-old midfielder has played 50 times for Monaco this season scoring five goals and providing three assists across all competitions. Tchouameni’s versatility adds to his importance with the talented Frenchman capable of playing even in more advanced roles.

Real Madrid were said to be keen on signing the French international and have already made their offer for him. However, they are still short of Monaco’s asking price of €80million, according to Fabrizio Romano (h/t football.london) and that offers Chelsea a window of opportunity to try and sign Tchouameni.

If Real Madrid want a player, they try their best to get him into their ranks and with Tchouameni, expect it to be no different. After all, Los Blancos are the team that tabled a €200m bid for Kylian Mbappe of PSG last year.

Even if Los Blancos are a little off from the valuation, the fact that the player actually wants to join them goes a long way in deciding the future of the Frenchman. Tchouameni is bound to succeed and would be a part of Real Madrid’s midfield for many years to come given his age and talent.

Chelsea could benefit from adding the 22-year-old to their roster. Chelsea’s midfield finds itself in a conundrum with both N’Golo Kante and Jorginho ageing and not the players they were once. Mateo Kovacic for all his brilliance tends to be injured often.

Adding Tchouameni to a young crop of talents like Conor Gallagher and Billy Gilmour would have had the Blues sorted for many years to come but it seems unlikely right now. Whilst there are other options that we could explore, the Frenchman may seem like an opportunity lost if Madrid match the valuation.

It remains to be seen as to how Chelsea choose to reinforce their midfield for next season. They could manage for a while even if they don’t and keep their main players on board, but adding quality is always welcome.

Better than Pulisic: Tuchel now signing Chelsea swoop for "world-class" £76.5m-rated star

Better than Pulisic: Tuchel now eyes Chelsea swoop for «world-class» £76.5m-rated star – opinion

Chelsea’s pursuit of Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has been dealt a setback, as another club has joined the race to sign him.

That’s according to The Guardian, who report that Real Madrid have joined the Blues in keeping a close eye on the situation in Manchester.

The 27-year-old has fallen down the pecking order in Pep Guardiola’s side, with this season being the first since 2015-16 that the England international has made less than 25 starts in the league.

With his contract expiring next summer, the Citizens may look to sell the former Liverpool winger, which has alerted clubs who feel they can sign the Kingston-born danger man for less than his £76.5m market value.

With Sterling having previously called the Spanish giants a “fantastic club”, Thomas Tuchel has every right to fear that they could lose out on their target.

One thing that the 2018-19 FWA Footballer of the Year would bring to Stamford Bridge is goals. The 13 that he has scored in the Premier League this campaign would make him the top scorer at the west London club, and only Mason Mount and Reece James have more assists, as per FBRef.

His performance in recent years has caused former teammates Daniel Sturridge to brand him “world-class”.

“I don’t think it’s spoken about enough at just how brilliant he has been, consistently throughout the last three or four seasons.

“He’s shown real growth and maturity in how he’s playing the game, working hard while positionally and tactically he’s been brilliant.

“He’s scoring goals as well which is one thing people would not have thought he could do consistently.

“He’s doing everything that is asked of him, on and off the pitch – doing everything that can be asked of a world-class player. I’ve been blown away by how he’s been playing.”

The four-time Premier League winner would be a significant upgrade on Christian Pulisic, who has been reported to be on the verge of leaving Chelsea.

When the two are compared, alongside having more goals and assists, Sterling has more shots, key passes, and dribbles per 90 minutes, as well as having better pass accuracy.

While the USA international has more tackles, interceptions, and pressures per 90, the Liverpool Academy graduate is better in pretty much every attacking metric.

Since Tuchel’s side scored 18 and 23 fewer goals than Liverpool and City respectively this year while only conceding seven more than both, improving the attack is the bigger priority if the Blues want to be part of the title race next season.

While the £200k-per-week star earns £50k-per-week more than Pulisic, what he’ll bring to the attack means he is worth every penny to Chelsea, who should do everything they can to ensure Sterling joins them this summer.

Chelsea complete deal this 25Y/O attacker but his club’s doing all they can to hold onto him

Chelsea are interested in this 25Y/O attacker but his club’s doing all they can to hold onto him: Can Tuchel lure him in?

The Chelsea manager wants to sign a wide-attacker for the next season and according to 90min, Thomas Tuchel is eager to bring in Jarrod Bowen.

Jarrod Bowen has been an exceptional player for the Hammers during the 2021/22 season, scoring 12 and assisting 10 goals in 36 Premier League games and his current deal expires in 2025.

The Hammers have missed out on European football and since the manager wants to bring in reinforcements, there are rumours that Moyes is ready to sell some of his biggest stars.

However, West Ham United are not willing to part ways with Jarrod Bowen, instead, the club are planning to offer him a new and improved deal in the coming months.

The Blues are willing to offload Ziyech, Pulisic and Timo Werner for the right price and if all three are leaving then Thomas Tuchel can very well use someone like Jarrod Bowen.

Even without all these players leaving Bowen will definitely be an upgrade because almost all of Chelsea’s forwards have been underwhelming in the previous 12 months.

Apart from Kai Havertz, none of the Chelsea attackers have been able to come good this season and even Havertz saw a dip in form during the final few months. With such low performing players, there’s no way Chelsea will be able to challenge Liverpool or Man City next season.

Based on the previous year’s performance, Jarrod Bowen will be a very good signing and since he is an out-and-out wide player, Romelu Lukaku will likely get a lot more early service into the penalty area.

David Moyes does need to sell some players in order to gather funds for the new arrivals but if he can sell Declan Rice then there’s no need for any other exits.

Rice alone will fetch close to 130-150 million pounds and that money will be enough to rebuild for at least three or four transfer windows.

The exit of Jarrod Bowen and a few others will totally depend on Declan Rice’s future because if Moyes cannot cash in on the England international then he will have no other option but to offload a few other first-team players.

OFFICIAL: Tuchel pay£150M Chelsea signing ‘big powerful, long, very good passer ‘ like Gerrard

Tuchel told possible£150M Chelsea signing ‘big powerful, long, very good passer ‘ like Gerrard

Possible Chelsea signing Declan Rice has been compared to Liverpool icon Steven Gerrard – amid all the speculation surrounding his future.

Rice is a man that is seemingly in the headlines alot over the past few seasons after developing into one of the best holding midfielders in the game, and that has led to links with Chelsea.

Chelsea may have one of the best squads in world football – but Thomas Tuchel knows that he needs to freshen up the squad and it has been claimed on many occasions in the media that the Blues will make a move to try and sign Rice.

However – Rice will not come cheap if Chelsea do want to sign him and new owner Todd Boehly may have to shell out £150million for his signature – according to the latest reports in the media.

But after the Englishman started for England on Saturday afternoon in their Nations League clash with Hungary – Liverpool icon Michael Owen compared his abilities to those of Steven Gerrard. -who is easily regarded as one of the best ever in the Premier League.

“I think that sitting midfield role is a very disciplined one, I played with one of the best in Steven Gerrard but he was too good to sit there and be disciplined,” Owen said during Channel 4’s coverage of the clash.

“He does show signs of a Steven Gerrard, big powerful, long, very good passer, he breaks the game up so well now he just adds those long sloping runs.”

He wants to be playing Champions League football, he wants to be challenging for trophies and the longer he waits, the less time he will have to develop into the world class midfielder that most clubs believe he will become.

He is developing into a very special player and is showing some real qualities that Gerrard had in his game – but he is not worth £150M and the Hammers are playing a dangerous game if they try to force the player to stay.

He may seem happy – but when all his England team-mates are winning Premier League and Champions League titles – he will want a bit of that.
